Are you talking swingarm, engine or full belly? We just made some belly skids yesterday out of thick, high density plastic. It is very hard to do by measurements due to the fact the frame has a different bend on both sides. We found it easiest to flip the quad up on its grab bar and traced the stock one and then measured the width and distance to the front and try to mimic the taper. The benefit we had was to make it a little big and trim/file down to what we needed. You could probably trace the whole frame bottom on a big piece of paper/cardboard, or better yet, try and find someone who has a skid you can copy. We did abunch of trial errors on the first one to get it right and just traced it for the second one. It looks pretty good for free and was fun making them I will try to get some pictures of it later on.
