I bet my stock Can Am DS 450 could be brought in the 70's easily. It smokes Piped YFZ's all day. It runs not far behind my Outlaw. I call it my Serial killer lol

Yea..good luck with that...its not "easy" to get any 450 into the 70's, and from my experience the DNF 450 (did not finish) is the slowest of them all...well maybe except for the KFX.

You really are clueless. The DS is the lightest fastest production 450 on the market. Thats a fact. Anyone that says otherwise is a idiot.

It might be the lightest...I do not know, but it is not the fastest, if you believe that it is you that are clueless, I used to eat DS 450's up when my LTR was 3 mod and the LTR is the heaviest of them all.

DS...what a joke.:lol:

Just to be more specific..I am talking fast as in 300'...not top speed..I am not sure which you are refering to, if it is top speed you may be correct...but then who cares about top speed.

Yup 300 feet is all I race. And you dont listen very well. Im talking production not modded. Otherwise all I would have to do is 3 mod my DS. Then it would be all she wrote for your LTR.

You gona have to do ALOT more than 3 mod your DS to get anywhere near my LTR right now.....and the DS's I was referring to were 3 modded and stripped alittle for weight and still sloooooow. in fact at the time I would have gladly put my stock off the floor LTR against your 3 mod DS any day of the week and probly still spanked that a$$. What does you super fast DS run in 300'?

In sand my DS runs low 5's. Thats with hauler paddles.

No your right not as a 3 mod. My DS is bone stock. My buddys stock predator runs mid 5's. My Outlaw can almost do a 5 flat if I launch in second gear. My DS I launch in first, pinned to the Rev limiter.

the DS is listed as 349 lbs,
the yfz is 350,
the Honda TRX is listed as 325

do a little research when you start spouting facts that arent true, the DS is a strong bike, but you can really call it the fastest, it would be up to the rider, bike against bike, the better rider will win in almost any circumstance with any stock 450. (except the polaris and the KFX that is)

Smokin crack??? Ive seen 60 hp machines run 4.7's all day. Its not the horsepower, its the setup thats key. Any 50-60 hp machine can run in the low 5's or less if the setup is right. I race at Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan. Been doing it off and on for years. The big 100 hp thumpers Ive seen go 4.2's or better. Set up is everything

Well I do agree with you there, setup is everything, but the only way you will set a stock 450 up to run 5 flat in 300' is to set the track up 75' short.:lol:

I am still waving the BS flag.

My DS has never ran 5 flat ever. I never said it did. Its ran 5.4's all day. It runs faster on occasion but not much. My Outlaw 525 has come real close to a 5 flat.

Well 5.4 isn't low 5's....but I still don't buy 5.4 on a bone stock DS either.

In my yfz 450r I got 83hp I put 6k in to it and I paid 4k for the bike but It broke in the first to months of riding the motor ripped off the motor mounts but 80hp on a yfz450 wasn't nothing crazy it just had no top end it hit 5 gear in 8_9 seconds
