Warrior transmission problems

I have a 97 warrior. Well the other day I was riding it in 5 or 6th gear can't remember. And it literally just locked the tires up and stalled. Well now it won't shift gears and iy sounds like its shifting gear., I can hold the clutch in and it will roll itself. Also it acts like it shifts down but soon as I shift up it says its on neutral. But if I go start it then it's clearly not and still in some gear. Took the clutch off and everything looks fine. Never messed with fourwheelers before so any help would be awesome.
