mine was acting just like that an i still dont know what to think of it. i went out an rode it for hours today an then it will pop backfire sputter an run like shit at random, then out of no where it will run perfect. i have flushed my fuel tank, cleaned screens on petcock, cleaned carb and all jets 3 times an installed moose carbkit the 4th time, remove the stator cover an looked it over removed the metal shavings from the pulsar, but i still cant get any readings from the stator or pulsar, still dont know how to for sure test the cdi, the reverse rev limiter is bypassed, tryed testing the coil under the hood it reads .3 ohms, not sure on the rectifier, the charging is from 14v-14.4vdc, all wire connectors are clean an tight no cuts or burns or scrapes, i did the starting fluid spray test on the boot an carb, unlike the warrior mine doesnt have a parking brake switch, the plug is perfect. i just want it to stop doing it, i can ride it for 5 min and it can start doing it or i can ride it for 5 hours and it will just all the sudden do it.

Hey do you have a raptor 350? So yes , the electrical is perfect the same as my warrior 350 from 2002. I that case we can help each other ! :)

Have you tryd the disconnect the "soucre coil"? This are the RED and WHITE/BLUE cables on the 4pin plug from your stator.
You can easy press the pins out of the connector without damage something and test without the source coil...

How runs the engine without this source coil? If its stills run like shit its probably a bad stator ;-)

I have been reading this guy posts for a while. It seems he keeps replacing with parts that are not compatible with is model/year; and just splices/alters the plugs to fit. I am pretty sure he should just buy the proper parts and install them.
Indeed, but the company where a buy this 97-01 stator tels me it will work if i do this...

But after good searching i find out i only can use a right stator.
I'm now waiting on the right stator (on the way) and really hope it will work!

Effedup, thanks for the post. read your thread last night and after chipping the ice away this am (Pac NW) fired up the bike and fixed the parking break issue. All the throttle a guy needs to hurt himself now. diiggerz & bomber great job trouble shooting. Side bar: replaced a pulse pick up once with one from RM Stator (good outfit). did not work at first. when I called to order the whole stator was told no, change the leads and it will run fine. Sure enough fired up and playing on the dunes. They could have stuck me with a big bill but instead got a loyal customer. New to sight, first post, new to riding. But I know this if you own them your gonna fix them! Thanks for the indirect help.

Im haveing a similar problem to this. Have replaced valves(whole new OEM set) timing looked to be about a 1/2 tooth off replaced timing chain and and that centered it up
new plug. carb cleaned and rebuilt, in this video u may see that the parking break is unpluged and the reverse switch is grounded. this is the 3rd time I have torn this thing apart and put it back together and each time it will run frickin awsome for about an hour. then this happens, it has a pro circut slip on exhuast. stock jets and the airfilter is clean as well. exhuast isnt clogged either. the thing that really baffles me is that it runs so great for about an hour then goes to poo and wont run till I pull it back apart and put it back together. (should call it humpty dumpty) I would appreciate any advice I can get here. oh and Im new to this forum. but have read it for awhile fixed my dads 05 660 from the info here so I hope someone has the answer thank you all in advance
