Firefox is a totally different web browser. Downloading firefox will not help your IE because it has nothing to do with IE. Firefox is a different type of web browser that is 1000000x better than IE. So, when you want to use the internet, open up Firefox, not IE.

You really can't delete IE because it's a part of windows. I suppose you can take it out of your sight by deleting shortcuts and whatnot. BUT since it is a program that comes with windows there's always going to be the information there in case you want to install it again.

you could get a virus scan or something and scan for spyware or adware, you could also look for any spyware or adware that may have been downloaded to your computer and delete them.(a decent virus scanner will find them also)

Actually my sister totally deleted IE from her computer. Wasn't a trace of it to reinstall ... she's not the brightest crayon in the box
You can delete it and switch to netscape if you wanted, but I wouldn't see why.

A tip to less popups: Less porn sites!

I have firefox but also find a lot of issues with it. It reminds me of the early days of browsing. Dont get me wrong, its fine and dandy, but imagine as it becomes more of a full featured browser it will become more usefull to me anyway (and also more hackable, so its a catch 22).

I find the biggest problem is that it doesnt always convert image links properly. But outside of that, no issues

Actually, it is impossible to completly delete every trace if IE. Microsoft purposly made it impossible. Just becuase you dont think its there, doesnt mean its not.

Wrong you can Remove anything you want from Microsoft windows if you know how. I use a web browser called opera very good never had any issues.

Windows SP2 has a built in pop-up blocker that works surprising well. I also have the google toolbar which also has a built in pop-up blocker so between the 2 I never have any problems.

Yea, IE is impossible to delete because it will always be here...

Control Panel> Add or remove programs> Add/Remove windows components

It will ALWAYS be there.
