Hey I have a 01 raptor 660r and it runs great but over the past two weeks my battery has been dying over about a 2 hour ride will hold the charge as long as it isn't being rode I checked the voltage regulator and it showed 5.55 consistently each time on each prong but when I tried testing the stator one the three whole plug it didn't show any resistance at all it fires and runs Everytime but just won't recharge the battery can it still be the stator

test the battery voltage and then start it up and test it again it should go from 12 up 13.8 or so if not it is one of the 2. not sure how you tested the stator but if you went from any of the 3 wires to any of the other 2 and had 0 ohms it is the stator. the battery is creating the voltage for the spark and the trigger is doing its job.

I had the same issue and it was the wire connector at the rectifier under the rear fender. It got full of mud and water. I had to remove the pins from the connector and wire brush all the green gunk off of them. I have a rectifier laying around here if you want it.

Thanks for the advice I cleaned the voltage reg pins and haven't had any more problems with the charging but now I have another question for you my little brother raised it up and drug the muffler tip completely off then it started rattling in the muffler I saw the 3 small pipes inside the muffler one was missing one is still in there and one is broke can anyone tell me what those are and how to remove the broke one and if it will hurt anything internally in motor if i take them out or jus make it louder thanks for any advice or recommendations don't really have the cash for a new exhaust right now

i dont know what a stock pipe looks like but looking on the web if it is a factory pipe it looks like there is 3 screws on the back of the pipe that come out and you can remove the end to clean the baffle and change the packing. if you can post a pic i will be able to tell you for sure. it will not hurt the engine and should not be enough difference to effect jetting so you are good to go there but you won be able to ride public land until you get a new end or pipe or what ever you need. any mods to the end of the pipe will get you a ticket for sure if you run into the fun police
