My plug took a dump today I was wondering are the cr9e's hotter or colder then the 8's? And is it okay to run with the 9's or should i just buy another 8? are there any better plugs then the ngk's? with some noticeable gains? Let me know!
Run the same heat range plug that the manual suggests. One reason the run a colder plug is when using nitrous, turbo, etc. I don't know of any reason to run a hotter plug. Hotter doesn't mean "more spark". It means the plug was designed to run properly in a different environment, as in, a different motor.
I would just run the factory NKG. Just side gap them and make your own 7 dollar spark plug. I do this to my raptor spark plug. The plug suposedly last as long. I have been on my first side gapped plug for about a year and a half. Here is a web site expaling it all. http://performanceunlimited.com/illustrations/sparkplugs.html
