The bigger the cam the less torque and more top-end you will see. A stage one Hot-cam is good to boost the midrange of the engine, and will allow the engine to rev a lil higher.. A stage two came will bring the Horsepower curve higher in the RPM's. BUT keep in mind a Stage 2 WILL NEED heavy duty springs, Hi comp. piston, and portwork to work to its full potential..

I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOT CAMS, WEB CAMS, CRAYCRAFT GRINDS, SPARKS CAMS, ETC... DO I JUST NEED TO START CALLING THESE MANUFACTURES OR BUILDERS FOR WHAT IS AVAILABLE? THE BIKE IS AN '04 AND NOT READY FOR A PISTON YET.

Once you start talking about grind specifics, you get into pretty technical calculations. Some of the cam builders make purpose specific grinds.. Hotcams and Webcams make a lil more generic grinds, Craycraft and the other builders may grind their cams prupose specific, drag racing etc..

If you are not gonna put a piston in, I would recommend a mild or stage one cam.. The biogger cams need more compression to compensate for the camshaft overlap, and the shorter duration..

HEY DIGGERZMOUND, DO YOU KNOW THE SPECS OF THE STOCK CAM. I AM TRYING TO COMPARE THE DIFFERENT RISE AND DURATION OF THE WEB CAM AND HOT CAM. I THINK THE STOCK #'S WOULD HELP ME WITH THIS COMPARISON. THANK YOU IF YOU CAN HELP.

Curious as to how much power the cam adds on a stock motor with a pipe and jet kit, anyone seen a dyno on a stage 1 bumpstick?

i have the stage 1 hotcam in my raptor w/ a pro circuit exhaust, gyt-r jet kit, and gytr filter w/ adaptor w/ snorkel removed.

it works great with just a stock motor, but will do even better w/ a piston and ported head.

if u just want the power w/out spending over 200 bucks, i would get the hotcam stage 1 .. its great for trails and all around riding.

I looked for a dyno sheet for one of these (couldn't find one), i'm sure they improve power, i'd just like to quantify how much

Are the hotcams hard to install I do not want to take mine to the dealer I do all my service including my valve adjustments.. When I read the instructions on how to install a hot cam from hot cam it seemed a little technical.. I have worked on everything from cars to airplane motors.. I am sure I can handle it but just want your imputs as to the dificulty
