Trying to revive a '98 Yamaha YFM350 Warrior.
Someone put on an after market carb. last year from ZoomZoom.
After replacing starter motor and battery, and an oil change, tried to start it. Starter fluid was helpful but would not start again.
Found gas crystals in the carb bowl. Took apart, soaked parts. Tried to restart, it does with a shot of starter fluid then runs at very high speed and does take throttle input.
Carb has fuel, pump on carb is working.
Fuel screw (hidden from view) is has been set at 1-1/4 turns and 2-1/4 turns. No change.
Idle screw has no effect
Timing marks match up at crank and cam.
Spark is present.
Compression not tested yet, waiting on 12 mm adapter (dam small spark plugs)

the carb is still dirty or assembled incorrectly if the adjustment screws have no effect. also double check your carb boot if they crack it can cause your symptoms

Thanks for the reply.
Found a few things. Made new gaskets for both sides of intake boot, found butterfly disk misaligned (would not allow full closure) and last but not least the throttle cable was too short which held the butterfly open too much. Last, owner removed two cable carb and changed to one cable carb. After this fix it starts up nice on choke, and when warmed up to old engine does well.
