I ran My Shee with and without my boost bottle, back to back and noticed no difference. Actually Stewart Toomey suggests you run WITHOUT the boost bottle and just the stock cross over tube. He claims this creates more power. :wtf: Mine is on and will stay on until it wears out, because I paid for it, mainly. You just have to watch out for the lines running across the top of the boost bottle, they tend to wear a hole in the top of the bottle from rubbing back and forth.

The carburetor crossover equalizes the pressure between the two carburetors so no extensive tuning is needed, twin carbs is difficult to tune. However, when you put on a boost bottle, it creates a reservor when the carburetor SUCKS on initial opening of the air valve the first rush of air is LEAN without the boost bottle, and then after the air gets moving the mixture richens due to appropriate venturi effect.
With the boost bottle, a charge of air with appropriate gas mixture is STORED in the bottle, and is sucked out when you first open the throttle.
The boost bottle is not noticible if you hold the throttle open, but if you go WAHuuunWAHuunWAHuun a lot, it will definitely help you. also, DONT FORGET TO REJET, you got up one or twom main jets when you install a boost bottle, or you are loosing potential power.

MORE AIR, MORE JETS...

Boost bottle acts like a CAPACITOR in an electric circuit, You, know, like in arefrigerator, if they didnt have a boost capacitor, your motor would have to be twice the sixe to start... with the capacito/boost bottle any little motor can give a bigger initial kick...

Some riders don't notice the bottle cause they are always wide open, and the bottle doesn't help much, but those who are on the throttle and off a lot, notice a difference.

clarification: the boost bottle doesnt really store fuel, it STORES A VACUUM. when the enging is sucking hard the pressure in the bottle goes way down (NO AIR) then when the initial carburetor opening begins (FLOORING IT) the VACUUM in the boost bottle does a tremendous SUCK which gets the gas atomizing quicker and makes it rich. but you can think of the bottle as STORING EXTRA GAS in a way, since that is essentially the same thing here...

thanks :)

You will lose power if you use one on a heavly ported motor. I have acctually seen motors lose about 2hp becuase of them. I leave mine on becuase I am cetting new intakes with the crossover built in.
