Hey Guys

I bought an 03 warrior and have it running pretty good. Only issue I’m having is it backfired when I let off the throttle. Shoots muffler flames and all. It has a beat up after market exhaust on it. The airbox is new, carb is clean and carb boot is new. The jetting is all stock. Would this be a pilot screw issue? Too lean or too rich? Or is the after market exhaust causing a problem, it’s pretty bad. I attached a picture of it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

decell backfires are normally a lean condition but if your plug looks good and you dont have a vacuum leak around the carb (spray some starter fluid around it while its running and see if it revs up) its possibly the cause. confirm the valve lash is correct and then take the pipe apart and see if the packing is all blown out

I just did the valve lash and they were just slightly out of spec but good now. I’ll try the starter fluid thing and then checkout the exhaust. Thanks man.
