Adding lights to raptor 80/badger 80

Does anyone know how to add headlight/tailight to mini quad? Since my sons raptor 80 has electric start, it must charge the battery from the generator. Is there a way to tap into a circuit to allow for lights. I've looked at parts lists and know that the old YFM100 had a headlight, and looks like similar charging circuit (can't find a wiring diagram though). I don't want to strap on a flashlight. Thanks in advance.

You could just run a wire from the battery to the light with a switch in there. That would be the easiest way, and I don't think it will drain the battery, as long as you don't leave it on.
I wouldnt use one over 50 watts because its not ment to have lights, i wanted to put one on my lt80 and the suzuki dealer said it would drain the battery and damage the electrical but i just duck taped one on and tuched a wire to the battery when ever i wanted it and it worked ok.
On my old badger I had a yamaha utility light wires attached directly to the battery, and had the light on the front bumper, and it worked realy good.
Yep, I remember seeing the Yamaha book with the Badger in it and it had a Yamaha utility light. It was the same light that could be bought for the Kodiak, Wolverine, etc. So I would say that you could hook up a light to the Badger with no problem. But get in touch with your local dealer to make sure that the badger's electrical system can take the load that the light will give it. I don't want to see you burning up the electrical system.... Big Bucks in that!!!!!
My delar said the lt80 couldnt take a light but it took it just fine, i would just take one off a old lawn tractor or something.
I put a Ricky Stator light kit on my sons LT80. It has an additional light coil.? I have to admit, the battery still drained if we sat alot or rode slowly. Now with the mods and our pace has picked up (it revs higher all the time) it charges great....

If I had to do it over again, I would slap a small light on it and go!
If I were you, I'd contact Ricky Stator to see if your stator should be rewound or other options were recommended to forestall electrical problems down the road.
He usually runs small ads in the major trade mags

Its low amperage battery cant accomodate lights. Ignition alone uses too much. LED lights would be appropriate. Or a headlamp lol
