I recently bought a used 2000 warrior for my daughter. When I bought it I thought it went thru all the gears well without issue. However once I got it home where I could really open it up I noticed that mid to top range in 3rd gear it would slip or hesitate. All the other gears are fine and don’t have this issue. The previous owner claims he put a new clutch in it. I’m wondering if he either put a junk aftermarket clutch or didn’t use the right fluid.
Question is do you think this is must a clutch issue or do I have bigger problems.
There does not appear to be any grinding or clunking when shifting. Just the slipping sound at mid to high range while in 3rd gear.

If you're on a budget and can find a spare clutch steel you can fix it that way. The clutch pack in the warrior is thin, it will slip after the clutch is about half used up. An extra steel plate will extend the life of the clutch
