Hi Folks

My raptor seems to be dying at idle after being ridden very hard :s96: -under normal riding conditions it idles fine without any problems. After dying it takes a few turns of the starter for the motor to run. My initial thoughts was that it was overheating but when checking the rad-fan I saw it was bypassed to be always on. I took out both carbs and cleaned them thoroughly ensuring nothing is blocked/sticky.

Any ideas why this is happening?

May be float setting.

Valves may need adjusted.

It might be the floats that need adjusting.

Yesterday when going down a steep hill, I pulled in the clutch and regulated my speed with the brakes when it died on me. Tried it a second time whilst 1st gear was engaged and it did the same thing. :(

I'll have a look in the manual to see at what levels the floats need to be as well as the settings for the valves.

thanks for the link!!

I'll start by checking my valves and while everything is stripped do the Clear tube method and report back on the results.
