I have a 1988 Banshee and at first one side was firing more than the other and the plugs would faul out quick but the one thats not firing as much fouls first and now it pushes out lots of white smoke out the one side and it back fires every once in awhile. it starts fine cold but when it gets hot it wont start agin. "so after this i got new carbs and it still is doing the same thing" any help?

White smoke usually indicates that you are burning some water. Usually its a bad seal that is letting coolant by. I would start by checking compression and pulling the head off to see if you a have a blown head gasket. If that not it, you may have a seal in the motor that is bad.

But...based on what you described, whenever I have had those symptoms..it was time to pull the motor apart and rebuild.
