Does anyone know why my 2001 Yamaha warriors 350 would be sucking from the exaust and blowing from the carburator

Is there a chance the piston was installed backwards? I own a YFS200 and I know the ports on the piston should face the intake, not sure if the same theory applies to the warrior.

blasters are 2 strokes and warriors are 4 stroke so even though there is a right and wrong way to install the piston it would not cause the same issue in a 4 troke

there is only 2 things that will cause significant air out of the carb. bad valves or the timing is off. they will always sputter some fuel out of the carb with the filter off

yes a tiny bit it will sputter fuel out the carb and i have never checked but i would assume the same out of the exhaust. the valves dont open and close instantly so as the piston enters the compression or exhaust stroke the valve is closing so there is a split second where it leaks. did you inspect the valve seats when you pulled the head. i assumed the machine did not run, does it? are you getting the sucking with the pipe on or off

had spark or has spark. i suspect if your replaced the cdi with a cheap ebay one that may be your issue if you dont have spark now

ok lets back up. when was the last time you saw it run? did it make any strange noises and die or did it just not start one day? what parts have you replaced since you saw it run and the brand of the part? do you have the capability of doing a compression test or have you, if so what are the results? do you have the capacity of doing a leak down test? are you confidant of the year of your machine, that it is the original motor and the cdi is for the correct year. have you tried to start it with starting fluid?. the more complete the answers and the more information i have the faster i can narrow it down for you
