5th gear slip

(2004 yfz) when shifted into 5th gear it seems to pop out of gear then i pops back in, it does that the whole time in fifth gear. the motor has just been rebuilt, wr crank, piston..ect. it had this problem before tear down, the only thing in tranny that showed any wear was shift forks and they were replaced. new clutch and springs. any help is appreciated.

Is it actually 'popping' out of gear, or is it the clutch slipping? A slipping clutch will be more noticeable in higher gears/RPMs.

technically not popping out of gear but it feels that way. clucth and springs are new, but plan on pulling side cover and double check everything. thanks

it is not poping in/out of gears.

try running your bike with the headlights on.

It is electrical, NOT mechanical

i just had a raptor come in with this problem. make sure the second gear on that shaft towards the bottom does not have a lot of play. if it does the last gear needs pressed on farther or you'll have the same problem when you go back together.
