Raptor turns over as soon as battery is connected

I have an 02 raptor that when the battery gets connected it starts to turn over what could be the cause of that?

make sure you have all of your connections correct. red wire from the battery to the solenoid, black wire from the battery to the ground on the engine, long black wire from the starter to the solenoid.

make sure you did not reverse the wires on the solenoid. if the red wire is on the wrong side it will send power directly to the starter.

1 test the starter relay (most likely to cause your issue) unplug all the wires to the solenoid. there should not be continuity between the big pins on the solenoid, if there is it is bad.

2 plug the wires from the starter relay and test again. there should not be continuity between the big pins with the relay plugged in unless you hit the starter button. if there is its the relay

3 test the starter button it should be open at rest and closed when you hit the button. if it is not replace the button.

4 if you still have the problem you have a short in the wiring somewhere.

when did the problem start and what where you doing when it started?

Starter relay/solenoid is welded.
