Engine hot enough to melt hair on legs

I recently modified my exhaust using sawzall, part of fmf slipon, and some packing...how do bbn I telling it needs valve adjustment,or jetted? And could this be why it got so hot...

not sure exactly what you said above but if it was not getting hot before you ruined the exhaust it is very likely lean and needs a bigger main jet. if it suddenly started getting hot before you did the exhaust check the oil filter and prefilter screen. if they are dirty it will cause overheating. as to the valves you just need to pull the covers and check the valve lash, if they are out of adjustment it will be hard to start and run poorly but it would not make heat.
