After the plastic dash on our 660R started to show its age, we decided to look for a
simple, yet unique aluminum piece to replace the worn-out stocker. We found just what we were
looking for when we stumbled upon the Rox Speed FX website. These guys make some really trick parts for ATVs, sleds, and dual-sport motorcycles.
While browsing their pages we found some neat stuff, such as handlebar risers,
hand guards and vibration dampeners. But most importantly, we found what we were looking for -
a great looking replacement dash for our Raptor, which was also available for most sport quads.
When seeing the style and sleek look of the Rox Speed FX dash up close, we knew it was
exactly what we were looking for. The keyswitch maintained its factory location as
did the factory reverse, neutral, and temperature indicator lights. Installation
was a breeze as expected, but if you had any doubt in your wrenching abilities there were instructions
included to insure a proper install. All that was needed was a 12mm wrench, and ten minutes later the Raptor was sporting a new dash and
new look! It simply fits over the top of the factory bar clamps, although this could pose a
problem with guys running aftermarket or oversized bar clamps.
Surprisingly, this nice little dash is very well built for the price. The cuts are all precise and the fit
was perfect. We initially had some worries about the cut-outs for the indicator lights,
but the fitment was tight and easy, just the way we like it! The Rox Speed FX
dash easily clears the factory plastic panels on the quad and fits very nicely between the handlebars.
At just under $30 it is definitely the best bang for the buck dash replacement
we have found to date. The modest style and black finish may not be what
everyone is looking for, but that's what the guys at Rox Speed FX had in mind - a departure from the dime-a-dozen, shiny billet units that most riders run on their machine. Take the time to check out their website for more info on the dash, and to gander at more of their kick-ass, unique products.
