YB Electronic's Reverse Rev-Limiter Bypass System

Just can't get those rear wheels spinning fast enough in reverse on your '02 or newer Raptor or Grizzly due to Yamaha's reverse rev-limiter? Well YB Electronics of Ontario, Canada has developed a system which will bypass the 2000 RPM limit placed on the reverse gear.
The bypass unit we received from YB Electronics was packaged well, and contained the bypass switch, all wiring, one wire connector, and a few tie-wraps. Everything is assembled flawlessly and no corners were cut when waterproofing the entire system. The switch itself is a high-quality piece which is a combination push on/off button and 2-color light. After looking over the full color instructions, we were ready for the installation process on our '02 Raptor. After about 20 minutes, we were done. Installation was quick and easy thanks to the great instructions, and no modifications had to be made to the stock handlebar dash piece. Simply replace the stock reverse light with the new switch/light, and follow the rest of the wiring instructions. The bypass unit can be armed and disarmed with a tap of the button, and the light's colors (red and green) will let you know the status of it. That is what we liked about it the most; if you want the limiter armed in the event of an inexperienced rider taking your machine for a spin, just press the button for some added safety. Need more power to get up that hill or out of that mud pit? Press the button again to disarm the limiter and rev to the moon!
Quality-wise, this unit can't be beat. The only complaint we have is with the price. True, no expense was spared in production, but at a price of $80, we feel it's a little on the expensive side. If price isn't a problem, then you should not hesitate one bit, but we would love to see it reduced just a tad. Overall it's a great, high-quality product and the perfect choice for someone who wants a safe bypass system that will withstand the elements, and of course has a heavy wallet.
