Noss Machine's Warrior Chain Guard/Case Saver

A common problem among ATVs, especially Yamaha Warriors, is the vulnerability of the engine cases around the front sprocket housing. Many times if a drive chain loses contact with the sprockets, for whatever reason, it will be thrown against the engine cases and become jammed between the cases and the sprocket. Unfortunately when this happens, it usually takes a piece of the engine case with it, which is not good. Finally a company called Noss Machine produces a product for Warriors that can help prevent this costly accident from happening.
They call it a chain guard/case saver, and it is made from aluminum. It replaces the stock plastic piece which is little to no protection at all. The unit is very nice and has the company name engraved in it, along with the word "Warrior". It comes with a machined finish, but a few minutes with the buffing wheel and we were able to make it considerably more beautiful. The actual protection piece is aluminum, and should help in the event of a severe "chain toss", although we think there is a good chance that the case saver would be damaged or ruined after one of those mishaps. That is what it's intended to do, to "save" your engine cases, which cost a lot more and is harder to replace than the chain guard/case saver itself.
Installation was simple as expected; remove the three bolts that hold the stock piece in place, and install the new unit. You will use only two of the stock bolts for mounting, since the rear mount is no longer used. When mounted, it looks great! The improvement in style and general looks will be enough for most people to buy one we feel. It really catches your eye compared to the stock plastic chain guard. As with any aluminum product, simply polish it every now and then when you clean your Warrior, and the shine will last forever.
Overall we like the Noss Machine Chain Guard/Case Saver for the Warrior. There's not huge aftermarket support for the Warrior, especially for products that can protect your investment, so this seems like an obvious choice. At $65.00 each we feel it could see a very slight drop in price, maybe 15%, but we would still not have a problem handing over the money for one. The customer service is top-notch also! You can purchase them right from their website, or even try getting a great deal on one from their auctions on Ebay. They can also be reached by phone at (918)358-3804, or by email.
Update: If you mention that you are a Bluetraxx member they will sell you one for a reduced price of $55!
