Noss Machine's Super Flow Airbox Adapter Kit

As we all know by now, Yamaha didn't do the best job on designing the airbox for Banshees, Warriors, and Wolverines, so a lot of aftermarket companies have started to make "airbox adapters" that will cure the terrible OEM design and prevent any possible damage to your motor caused by poor airbox and filter sealing. For the most part these adapters have been on the expensive side, but when we saw how affordable the Noss Machine aluminum adapter was, we just had to try it!

We placed our order for the "Super Flow Airbox Adapter Kit" which comes with a UNI air filter for our 1998 Warrior. You get your choice of the UNI air filter or a K&N brand filter, and we opted for the less-expensive UNI since we desired a dual-stage foam filter for our Warrior. After about 4 days, we received our package. As with all of Noss Machine's products we've had experience with in the past, the adapter's quality was second to none. The CNC-machined aluminum adapter is fitted with an o-ring for sealing against the airbox, and the "Noss" signature engraved in the top of the piece is a nice touch, and looks great. It Also comes with all mounting hardware; four phillips-head screws. The dual-stage foam UNI air filter is also very nice, and comes with a hose clamp for mounting to the adapter. So far everything looks great, but we did notice that our kit lacked instructions. It won't be a problem for most people since the installation is pretty straight-forward, but it may be a little discouraging for those very new to ATVs.

Installation was easy; just place the aluminum adapter in the airbox where it will be mounted, and make marks on the airbox through the four holes in the adapter. Remove the adapter, and drill holes on the marks made. Clean any debris left by drilling and then smear some grease around the o-ring of the adapter, and position it back in the airbox. Insert the screws provided through the front (outside) of the airbox into the adapter, and tighten. Slide the air filter over the adapter's flange and tighten the hose clamp. That's it! The entire procedure took us about 10 minutes.

The Noss Machine Super Flow Airbox Adapter works flawlessly. It really gives you peace of mind knowing your filter is secured in the airbox correctly, and has virtually no chance of becoming loose and sucking in debris. You just don't get that with the OEM Yamaha design. This adapter and filter kit is a bargain at $65 ($80 with the K&N filter) and if there's anyone that sells a similar kit cheaper, we sure haven't seen it yet! It's a small price to pay to ensure your motor's longevity.
