ive never had any luck with DG products, but if the price is good enough, you really cant pass up a deal. even if you have to buy a new pipe after a while...

haha, i know how you feel, the cops here in ct aren't fond of ATV's at all. I'm going to begin riding up in mass in may when the riding areas open up so I was looking to get a nice system on there but one that's not too loud. I'd love to get dual exhaust but I'm sure the price for that is way out of my budget, I believe I saw 700 and change for a dual system somewhere on the internet.

Have you tried the xcellerator on ur 660 with the quietest setup? From what I've read, you can add and take away discs to balance power and sound. I'm just curious because I can't seem to find much info about this system.

What kind of luck have you had with dg products by the way? The more I know before I buy the better so any info will help.

Since we're here and talking about exhausts, does anyone have anything in mind that would be easy on my wallet and not too loud??

Thanks, I appreciate any help.

No I dont have the disc type, I have the dg xcellerator stage 3 pipe which is basicaly like a
glasspack muffler. No spark arrester either. It is aluminum can with chrome outlet, about 3in hole. It idles really deep and shakes my garage like a harley was in there, haha. Their newer stuff seems to be better made. People shy away from them because they made cheap steel exhaust all during the 80's and 90's for atvs and atc's but the aftermarket support is much greater now with about 20 brands of exhaust systems to pick from.

any of the hmf series, or the gytr pipes are very good solid pipes, they have a good power increase across the rpm range, aren't crazy loud, and the hmf's come in all kinds of colors.

stay away from duals with the yfz, there is really no gain over a single pipe, and in most cases they produce less power, they look cool, but for 700 like you said, you should get something much better.

I had that DG pipe on my quad. It is extremely loud and only lasted about a year. The weld that goes to the head pipe cracked right at the can. Didn't do much for power just noise. IF you are looking for a pipe look on YFZCENTRAL.COM I just seen a HMF for a good price.

Thanks for the info guys. I will probably not go with the dg, since I'm looking for something a bit quieter. I was looking around for an HMF but no luck yet.

I did find a gytr slip-on but the seller doesn't know how many hours are on it. He said he bought an 07 yfz450 with it on and took it off, bought a full system and is now selling that one. How much do you guys think is a good price? There was one picture of it and it looks decent, but I'm waiting for him to send me more. So far no dents or anything, just marks from where the clamps were holding it on. Any ideas?

also, will an 07 gytr slip on even fit my 04??

i had the older gytr slip on that your talking about and i liked it, the rubber rings around the clamps will eventually kinda melt and break up, but thats not a big deal.

even if its old, you can repack it and it should work just fine again. for the first gen slip on, i wouldnt pay over 200 for it, more around 150 or less.

Here they are claiming the HMF gives a 11hp increase, there is no way that is true is it? That would bring you into the 50s HP with just a slip on. I would think maybe 5hp would be more accurate.
