red hot exhaust

when i start up my quad and let it idle for a few min my exhaust gets red hot right at the head what could it be?

That's normal, you will really see it at night and on aftermarket headers. If it makes it around the 180 bend, then you are running lean.

your quad is going to explode any moment, you should really get rid of it, ill take if off your hands and save your life...

but really, no issue. like bowtie said, you shouldnt see it once you start riding either. the wind will really help cool it off too, but its not a big issue.

just as bowtie said, you are running lean. apparently the yfz's run lean from the factory. I had the same issue and I hated it so I rejetted and no more red! I forget what I rejetted ( it all depends what you have on ur quad) to but I'm sure if you follow the jetting guide that's pinned to the top here, it should get you going in the right direction, good luck!
