YFZ450 turbo???

I was looking on another website and seen that someone was talking about a turbo kit for the yfz is supposed to be coming out this year sometime. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I hope they change the compression. Turbos and 12:1 compression make for a less-than-desirable combination.

I wonder how that would hold up in the dunes?

yea, i wouldn't want one, but if you did, you'd have to lower the compression a whole bunch

YFZ450, Pro Taper SE, X-factor nerf bars, pro design kill switch, uni air box vents, LSR DC-4 a-arms,RPM dominatorII axle, PEP ZPS shocks,20in mx holeshots up front, 18in kenda klaws on the rear. Baffle out. Custom Gloss black rims.

rippins right. My expereancewith turbo motors is you can get more safe boost with lower compression. higher the compression the more heat you make and you will get more detonation in return. I figure with this motor you would be better around 8 to 1 compression with about 8 or 9 psi boost but i guess we will have to wait for a tryed and trued system that works. Fuel injection would probably be better for controlling detionation by leaning and richening the a/f when the boost comes on. just my .02
