Default ? about timing marks

which timing mark are you supposed to use of of the fly wheel to find tdc. there are three marks that i see one dot one. dot with a line connecting to another dot. i wasn't sure so put a long screwdriver in the spark plug hole and turned it back and forth slowly an stopped at the point where the screwdriver didn't rise or lower and it lined up with the first dot so thata the one i used if some one can confirm that i would be great ful

Good idea. I wish I had thought of that - easier to see the screwdriver than shining a light thru the hole and trying to watch the piston.
