I found out that even though a YFZ appears to have gas in the tank, quite a bit of gas also, it will not reach the petcock.

And yes, a how-to video is on the way.

We found that if a valve spacer comes loose, and sits in the space holder wrong you cant start it for beans.

We finally remembered BLUETRAXX and another guy had that problem, we checked the spacer and sure enough and an intake spacer slipped up sideways, and caused a slight pressure leak.

It will never start till you fix theat.

so if you did a piston change and it wont start, check the valve spacers, they move around WITHOUT removing the spacer covers.

just a tip.

The surest way to learn, is the hard way. And we're sure learning hard.

Has happened many times to me... get to the top of sand mountain and the damn thing starts to die WTF?

Go back to the trailer, check and yep - plenty of fuel in there. Filler up and walla... runs just fine.

Edit: It happened on K&T's dyno too. None of us could figure it out.

Good, I don't feel so bad now. :D
Guess I'm used to the Banshee, where it is BONE DRY before it dies.

yeah, wait till you get somewhat dry and riding wheelies and the level falls past the petcock intake and all your running on is fuel in the float bowl. stops a wheelie pretty fast if not sending you vertically forwards.

Will it hurt anything to run with it on reserve from the get go? I'm racing in the Adelanto GP next week and wondering if I'll have enough fuel. Don't want it cutting out with 1/2 a tank left. So I figured why not just put it on reserve before I start. I'm guessing the "reserve" inlet is down lower than the "on" inlet - right? Is that the only difference?

You can run it on reserve with no problem, you jsut won't know when you're getting low on fuel till it's too late. :)
