it wont quit overheating
My friend has a 96 banshee. its been bored to about to 415cc or 420cc. It keeps overheating and blowing the head gasket and blowing water out the overflow hose. he put a new head gasket and some engine ice coolant in it but it still keeps overheating. it gets so hot it will make that engine ice start boiling in about 10 minutes(just cruising around). any idea about why its getting this hot or how to fix it?

It could be your waterpump impeller. A good way to test is if you engine is hot and your radiator is cold.

yea it has plenty of coolant. we took the head gasket off the other day and it had blown it. we put a new one on but we think it blew it again. I dont think its the water impellar because after it would spew some coolant we would tried to take off the radiator cap but it was too hot.

today he started it up and drove around a little bit and he said the radiator was hot so i dont think its the water impellar. do banshee's have thermostat's?

I have no idea what it could be then. He might just take the radiator off and take it to the radiator shop. hopefully that will fix it

Is he running the stock black plastic radiator grill or does he have one of the aftermarket metal ones? Some of the metal ones I think block too much airflow to the radiator...just something to consider.

I think if you install an aftermarket water impellar (pro design ect) it will cure it. That is already a sign of it failing, the stock radiator is more then capable of handiling the chore. It may be getting coolant, but I bet the impellar is almost hosed. Don't let it go too long.

he has the stock radiator grill on it. how much does a water impellar cost? where could he find one? are there any other ways to check to make sure thats it? cause that would suck if thats not the problem.

LOOK ON EBAY I JUST GOT 1 FOR 40.00 AND WATER PUMP KIT (GASKET,BEARING SEAL) FOR 20.00
AND BUY A SIDE COVER GASKET AND YOUR ALL SET

I don't know if noss makes an impellar. But they are an improvement none the less. And should be added anyways. www.rockymountainatv.com sells the pro design. But I'd check with
Bob first.
