how to change needle clip position.
I installed a B1 kit. I changed the main jet to what was provided.
this is kinda dumm, but I took the top of the card off but I could not remove the needle to change the clip position.
how do I do this.
By the way I took it for a quick rip with just the main jet changed ant the pipe on, and holy crap. It's alot luoder and I alot more powerful than I thought.
all I can say is sweeeeet.
and oh yeah. when I do all the intake mods. do I leave the stock snorkel in place.
thanks for all the help.

Stuart Toomey suggests you run the Lid OFF, for best performance.

Look under the cap you removed from the top of the carb. You will see a gold colored metal peice that has a odd shape. Compress the spring, and take a pair of needle nose pliars and pull on the tab of that gold peice, Once you remove that you can un hood the throttle cable, remove the two screws and pull the needle out. WATCH for the two nylon washers....... Make sure you RE-install them in the position removed.
I just installed my Sons Toomey kit. The clip was on the third groove down. (or what ever the instructions say)
Make sure you adjust the fuel/air by pass screw as stated in the instructions, then you will have to adjust your idol.
Heres an important note to keep in mind. Toomey dynoed that kit with the air box lid ON, but with the 12 vents installed, with NO snorkel. Thats why they supplied you with a 310 main jet.
If you remove your lid completely, you may want to do some top end plug chops to verify you are not running to lean. I've heard of people having to install up to a 390 main jet to compensate for the additional air flow.
Just something to keep in mind.. based on your location, riding style, etc. That Toomey kit kicks sum serious butt though.. HUGE difference over stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I got it all figured out. i'm running with the lid on, but with the vents in and snorkel off, and the 310 main. clip in the 3rd position.
I did not adjust the air fuel mix. screw though.
oh yeah I also have the boyessen dual stage reeds. If they make a difference or not.
yeah the toomey kicks ass. I figure it made more of a diff. in power than the t4 did on my raptor.
and the power curve on the toomey pipe is awsome the topend is so strong.
the loss in bottom end doesn't even matter.
even on tight trials the wife has no problem.
she just loves it
I got it for her for christmas
any way thanks dbyrd

seems like i needed 4 hands to compress that &*&$ spring and loosen those screws all at the same time, so i put 2 zip ties on the spring and compressed it that way. so when it went back together, i just cut the zip ties and all done. enjoy!
