Default Wont start unless pull started

I have a Blaster that I am working on that the only way to get it started is by pull starting it with another quad. Even then it does not idle, and you have to keep it revved up. I just did a total rebuild on the motor, cleaned the carb, it has fuel flow to the carb, has spark, has compression, and sealed the reed cage plus new reeds. Anybody have any ideas on how to get it started with the kick starter?

you said it has spark, but is it a strong spark? I had one with a weak spark once that was about the same as what you described. I think pull starting it allows more rpms at cranking and maybe a better spark than what you can get thru just kicking it over.

The spark seems to be strong. Grounding the plug to the head, the spark looks bright. How did you rectify the problem with your blaster?

In my case I used a volt meter to test the resistance of each of the two or three sepearate coils that are on the stator plate, and one was bad which was the cause of the weak spark. I think the clymer manual shows how to test your stator and what the ohm readings should be for each coil. This is what generates the charge for the spark, but the other external coil is what boosts the charge to make the spark stronger. Sort of complicated but anyways that was what was wrong with mine.
