yes.
drain oil.
remove clutch cover.
remove white gear an washer and E clip on back of clutch cover.
remove lines from pump.
fill hole in top of clutch cover with silicone or goop.
plug the inlet to the carb. (i left about 1/2" of tubing and filled it with goop and super glue)
remove oil tank and bracket.
re-fill tranny with oil.
drain ALL of the gas in your tank.
premix or die :)

I think you mean the oil pump cover. The clutch cover is on the left side of the engine.

I always reuse gaskets. I usually just put a dab of silcone around it and stick it back on, unless it is ripped.

No, i mean the clutch cover, you need to remove it to get the white gear off. i would know because i did it. the clutch cover is on the right side of the engine. left is the stator. it is always BEST to use a new gasket. better safe than sorry. wouldnt you feel stupid of you seized up in the middle of a ride because your gasket leaked all of the oil out?

Yea your right. When you said clutch cover it through me off. I thought you were talking about the oil pump cover (I always forget that there is two covers on the right side).

The tranny could lock up if all the oil ran out and all the parts got too hot. Maybe that is what he ment.
