Default Electric start won't work. Any Ideas?

When I push the electric start button on my Raptor, all I hear is a clicking sound coming from behind the battery. When I pull it behind the truck, it starts right up. I hooked jumper cables up to the battery and all I get is the same sound. The yellow fuses look good to. Any ideas on whats wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the battery connections first, if they are tight, then I would check out the starter relay.

Sounds like you fried a cpl of cells in the battery... if you did, even jumping it w jumper cables wont get you a direct current.

Sometimes the push button on the bars will turn green on the inside and will not get a good connection. Take it all apart and clean it. Or it could be a loose wire on your starter relay. I have had many Warriors and have had to clean two starter buttons.

As Goochy says, I just recently ran into that problem ,so I pulled the switch apart and cleaned it .I havent had a prob. since
And a friend is also having a problem with his.... And I might have another answer in a couple days BUT...he is a lazy ass
and WE'LL NEVER know what the problem with his is.........
Because he'll just keep bitchin then all of a sudden it will start,!
then he says F**K it and rides it.
So do the chekin or cleaning of terminals and switches and good luck,You'll find it .

Default same prob

I have the same prob with my raptor, couldnt figure it out, but took seat off and found the connection going to starter was a little loose b/c there was no slack for it and it kept tugging off. gave it more slack and then zip tied it so it would stay on.

I've had that problem three times. Twice it was the starter relay. (the little black thing the positive battery wire goes into)

Try cleaning your switch, if that doesn't work, the starter relay is prolly bad.

The “clicking” sound you hear is the solenoid turning on to give the starter power. I would put a test light on the starter and see if the power is getting all the way there. If it isn’t I would try it on the side of the connection on the solenoid that goes to the starter, if that has power your problem is probable the wire going to the starter.

And if the starter is getting power but it doesn’t turn over at all and the neutral light doesn’t dim when the start button is pressed in then its probable your starter that’s bad. You can try tapping on it with a hammer or you can take it to bike place or something and they can rebuild it.

Hope this helps.

Install a kick start. No more problems just your right thigh will be just a little bigger kicking over 660 ponies.

I used a test light on the relay box and everything is getting power except for the big black wire. I'm pretty sure that's the wire that goes to the starter. I'm testing it at the connection right at the box, so I know its not the wire. I'm guessing the relay is bad.
