Default 01 rappy no spark :-(

so i was riding my quad around the yard running just fine shut it off loaded it in the truck took it over to my friends unloaded it and it wouldn't start was cranking over fine so i thought maybe it was flooded from unloading it. shut the gas valve off held the throttle wide open cranked over and fired riight up turned the gas on drove it 10 feet and blehh shuts off. pull the plug and no spark. tryed a new plug and no spark. my buddy has an identical quad so i switched the module hooked to the plug wire and nothing. switched the cpi under the seat by the battery and nothing. switched the safety switch that plugs into the clutch lever and nothing. what else could it be?? it is really a nuisance i followed the orange wire coming from the coil all the way to the cpi and there is nothing in between..what else would cause no spark?

ok so now to take this one step farther. i unplugged the two plugs coming from the stator and it wont start. plug the white smaller plug in and it starts right up with the other plug still unplugged. the second i plug in the larger 3 wire plug it stalls. what does the 3 wire plug go to?

That plug is the 3 phase altinator. With that unpluged it wont charge the battery. The small square plug is the ignition part of the stator.

I replaced mine with and electrosport stator. It is the highest wattage 300 w.

It aslo gets rid of the rotor rotation circuit. The rotor rotation circuit is what is used for the reverse rev limiter. It moves the reverse rev limiter up to a higher rpm. It doesnt kick in until about 1/2 throttle.

I guess since you have an 01 you dont have a reverse rev limiter anyways.

For future reference its a cdi (capacitor discharge ignition). Cpi makes banshee pipes.
