Default 03 vs 05. Any real differances?

Im looking at a 05 660 but also found a real nice 03. The 05 is all stock and looks new. The 03 looks nice but has a gytr pipe, k&n filter and works shocks. I wouldnt mind the 03 just for the extras but if the 05 is a better machine then I might do that. Did yamaha make any major changes between 03 and 05 that would make the 05 a better choice?

they are, take this one for example, its a small community of people, but you gotta understand, when one asshat shows up, talking the crazy shit you did, insulting everyone and their quads, no one likes you then, no one wants to help you, or offer you any insight, you started your relationship off as a total douche bag, why would anyone want you around after that?

I only gave my opinion based on my own experiance. I didnt say all raptors are junk. I said mine was. And backed up my statment with facts from my experiance. I didnt insult until I was insulted first. I answered a few questions on a few threads and it wasnt what you wanted to hear so then the douch baggery started.

Knightrider , does this jog your memory any? And this is but just a few of your posts and you must have balls the size of the Grand Canyon to come back to this forum let alone think some one is going to help you. Sorry but I am old enough to see when some one is sucking my ass trying to make up for thier stupidity

I would recommend a KFX 700. All the low end power you need plus plenty of power on the top end. Gear selector is on the handle bar for easy reach and it an automatic with reverse. No need to shift. Perfect for the trail and wicked fast on the dunes. Go to a dealer and check one out. You will not be dissapointed. They come with Holeshot tires right from the factory.

So... Warriors suck too. I used to smoke them on my bone stock blaster

Ive got a KFX 700 V force and its totally stock. I havent found a single Raptor that can hang with me. I waste Raptors off the line and in top end. I had a 06 Raptor once, got rid of it. I thought it was fast until I got beat by a Polaris outlaw 525. Yamaha needs to get in the game soon or people are gonna get tired of being beat all the time.

Its funny how you talk about beating me with your modded out machines. Especially since mine is bone stock. Its shamful that you have to dump money into your machines in order to run a stock one. I run the dunes all summer and I can honestly tell you that there is no way a YFZ could ever hope to run a KFX...period. Note that I never said anything untrue about the Raptor. I would like to see it be number one again someday just as bad as eveyone else. Then I'll buy one and come back here and hang with you guys again. Im not here to talk smack. Im just stopping buy to show some support and keep the dream alive for you guys.

Yeah ur right. My KFX does haul. It huals ass past a raptor like it was standing still. Hell my Polaris predator spanks raptors on the dunes all day every day too

All you guys can do is call me names because it pisses you off that you know Im right. And the rest of you are in Loser denial. I know cc's has nothing to do with speed. Thats why the Polaris outlaw 525 beat the 700 Raptor on the dunes, trail and track in every quad magazine that did a comparo. It has to do with HP and torque. Thats why the KFX has so much more than the yamaha. Its a fact. So go ahead and keep calling me names until ur blue in the face. That doesnt change the truth. Research it urself retards

even though i've seen all of your previous posts and now finally asking a legit question i'll try and help out. no, there are no real differences between those years. i believe the one-way starter issue was fixed for '05. the other years are known to have issues (my 02 did) but if you buy an l&a one-way kit you'll be fine. buy whatever looks to be in the best shape. and YES, your 700 you talked about was by far a lemon or beat to hell. buy another 700 if you can afford it.

Thanks for the help. Im going to check out a 04 YFZ 450 tomorrow, but I would entertain the Idea of another 700. Maybe I just got screwed on my last one.

be careful of the 04's, make sure the decomp plug is there, ask them if they did the oil update.
