I noticed when changing my axle bearings that my bearing spacer is all rusted(really bad), also it was like my bearings would hardly turn bc they were sitting against the spacer to tight. Once I got the bearings tap out a tiny bit they spun freely again. So when im putting the spacer and bearings back in how far do i put the bearings back in, is there a stopper that only lets them go in so far? What caused teh spacer to stop my bearings from spinning freely? Any tips or help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
Yea, there is a stopper, just hit all around the bearing and it will feel hard when you hit it when your at the stopper. Pretty confusing but yea, thats all.
that bearing sapcer is axtually the stopper for the bearing just use a wire wheel or sandblaster to remove all the rust and then paint it with some good quality paint to help prevent it from rusting up , and when you tighten your axle this spacer is what is used to prevent you from over tightening the side load on the bearigns hope this helps
