Default No Power To Coil

01 Warrior. Have replaced the pick up coil and the source coil. I ohmed the originals and they were way out of spec. Still not getting power to the coil. Tried different regulator rectifier and a different cdi box. The wire is not broken. Have cleaned all connections and grounds. Battery is fully charged. What tells the cdi box to send a signal to the coil to spark. What am i missing?

The CDI is a complicated mystery, there is no testing the damn thing and its a mystery to most what its doing and how. How was the trigger coil? The trigger coil works with the CDI to time the spark. DId you ohm the ignition coil? You cannot really test for power to the coil, it either sparks or it doesn't. Check your plug boot and make sure you have a new spark plug in it.

Which one is the trigger coil? I replaced the pick up and source coil. They are from RMStator. Ive tried a test light and a multi meter on the orange wire and i get nothing at all. Ive replaced the entire ignition coil also. Will try a new plug but the plug in it was good not too long ago. How exactly do you ohm the ignition coil?

The manual will tell you which wires are for the trigger coil. As for coil testing again refer to the manual.

Finally got around to trouble shooting the ignition system. Switches, pick up coil, source coil are all in spec. Ignition coil had some different readings then what the manual specs so I swapped the coil from my raptor and still had no spark. I've cleaned all the grounds I could find and all connectors. The only thing left is the cdi box. I swapped it with another one that I had but still no spark. Possible both are bad? Any other ideas before I order an ignition coil and cdi from RMstator?

Ok I am still fighting this problem. I've replaced pick up coil, source coil, cdi box, and ignition coil with all new parts from rmstator. The plug is good. The switch for the run is good. The cdi is getting power and I believe it is getting a signal from the pick up coil cuz when I put my power probe on the wire and crank it it pulses a ground signal. I sent power to the coil numerous times and only saw one faint spark. What the Hell am I missing? I've checked and cleaned all connectors and grounds. Does anyone know the actually functions of the ignition system? Like what does whY and when kind of thing? Or if anyone is around the waterford Michigan area that has a 97-01 warrior that I.could test parts on would be great.

Sorry no advice to help your problem but maybe you will have some for me. I am waiting for my pickup coil to get here and still cannot find anything on how or where to change it out. Could you elaborate on this for me?

The pick up coil will be in your left side engine case. It's the one that's not attached to the stator. Be very careful with the screws the hold it in there. They strip very easy. And I finally found my problem to the no spark issue. I mounted the pickup cool upside down. Now I have it backfiring through the carbon like timing is off
