2001 yamaha Warrior carb or valve issues?

hey guys, i gotta 01 warrior on my last ride i had it in 6 gear wide open and it was sputtering out on the top of the power band, thought it was carb issues so i cleaned and rebuilt the carb with a shindy rebuild kit. i have the needle set to the top position and a 145 main jet and a 42.5 pilot jet (2 1/2 turns out)
still runs rich as hell i can barely get it started and keep it started for 6 seconds. it coughs at the airbox so i removed the lid and filter (no change) any ideas?

Try moving the needle down one. Mine did the same thing expect mine was running lean i moved the needle and made sure i was at 2.5 turns out

had a polaris sports man that coughed out the airbox. guy didn't check his oil so he didn't have any exhaust lobe. if you use rtv silicon on your side covers, make sure you check your oil filter. my filter was bypassing because of this, and chunks ended up blocking oil from getting on my exhaust lobe. i caught it in time thankfully.

r u sure it's rich? sputtering is usually a lean condition. check the plug. sounds like the old torn boot symptoms.
