slipping clutch?

I've had a problem with running along in 4th 5th and 6th gear and all of the sudden the rpms go up like its in nuetral let off and get back on it does ok then starts it again. went riding today it starting doing it in every gear and when i was climbing hills had to stop half way up twice because it wont pull. check the oil level and its below minimum. anyone know the oil capacity?

2.5 quarts, did mine yesterday.
Hopefully adding some helps, but slipping is usually from too much or the wrong oil, no?

well with a wet clutch, at least if its anything like a automatic transmisson, the oil is used in conjunction with the friction plates to help create a better bite on the steel plates, when i rode it after i let it sit awhile it wasnt slipping like it was but id rather know for sure what it is before i get stuck on another hill, do u run yamalube?

From what i hear usually when a clutch starts to slip its time to replace, because its always going to slip from now on...
but you could try adjust the cable, theres an adjuster by the handle and one right before it goes into the engine, it should be mostly tight but leave just a bit of slack.
If thats doesent work maybe try a new cable...

I bought mine used and they were using Castrol 4t 10w-40 and it seems to be working fine...

There are clutch kits on ebay for about $45 shipped
Yamaha WARRIOR 350 Clutch Kit With Heavy Duty Springs: eBay Motors (item 230513948149 end time Sep-19-10 08:33:40 PDT)

And also some stock replacement, pre assembled clutch's for $150
YAMAHA RAPTOR WARRIOR 350 CLUTCH WITH HOUSING BASKET: eBay Motors (item 280556585381 end time Oct-01-10 11:44:15 PDT)

If it comes to that, look around, might find a good deal somewhere...

The warrior clutch basket is shallow, if there is a little wear the pressure plate bottoms out and lets the clutch slip.

Save one of the steels out of your old clutch and put an extra steel in the middle of the new clutch pack and you will have a firmer clutch.
