98 warrior wont strart everything turn over fine just doesnt start! i have spark , carb has been cleaned and a kit in it. has new gas in it lines are clean and new filter. if you pull start it it will run wont idel but does run ok at higher rpms just cant get it to start. the parking brake and cluth have been bypassed too. this thing is driving me crazy help is needed !!
I wouldnt rule out the stator. My stator checked bad according to the manual but it works fine. For a start to happen you have to have fuel, spark, air, and compression. So if you have spark then work down the line. have you checked compression? Seriously the stator is probally fine if you have spark. I went roundy round with mine to see it was actually fine.
i have checked the timing and its good, the stator checks out ok, i havent check compression yet but when i pull start it it runs hard and doesnt smoke every thing seems to be ok when running just wont start any ideas
been messing with this thing all day checked timming , reset the valves, cleaned carb again if you pull the choke and pump the hell out of it you can sometimes!! get it to fire up after 1o min of cranking and run. doesnt like to run at idle but runs fine at higher rpms no miss or backfire no smoke seems to run fine. is this a fuel problem not getting enough fuel to fire up on the start i havent check compression yet i dont have the tool to do it. the plug looks to be a little black but not wet. what do you guy think
thanks
put your fingur over the spark plug hole and crank it to get an idea of how good your compression is, check your intake boot, my buddies doesnt like to start because of that.
i put my finger over the hole it has compression i have another warrior so i did it to that one to compare the two they feel the same but i will get the right tool this week and do it right. boot has been checked and o rings too
another way to easily check timing it to seal off the exhaust with your hand... you should only feel air blowing out... if it sucks your hand at all the timing is off... i dont think that is really the problem tho....
you need three things to run... spark, compression, and GAS... you said your plug is black but not wet... therefore your not getting gas.... there has to be something blocking it somewhere... just start tracing it... unhook the supply line to that carb and make sure it flows gas... from there crack open the phillips drain screw in the bottom if the float bowl and make sure gas runs out of the drain (hose)... if there is gas in both places then sorry to tell ya but the pilot jet is plugged (<-- where my money is)
