I just got my 2002 Warrior back from the dealership. They installed a new RK chain, chain slider, front and rear sprockets. I took a ride when I got home and realized that lower chain roller was shredded. I went back to dealership and spent 20 bucks on a stock lower chain roller. I installed it and went for another ride around the block and could hear the chain rubbing on the metal guide where the roller was supposed to be, needless to say the roller was shredded again by the chain. Could it be that the chain is to tight or that I just need to purchase an aftermarket chain roller, such as the one TM designworks make. It looks like they have one with ball bearings and a heavier duty delrin plastic. Has anyone experienced this problem before?
Was the metal guide in place still?? or did you cut it off. My new chain is rubbing on that metal right now and it makes a noise. I would think that would probably cause unnecessary wear on my chain if I did not have one in place. Could it be rubbing cause chain is tight since it is new?
cuz mine was shredded when i bought the atv. i replaced it with something i found on ebay. it was hard plastic not soft. i actually thought i may have bought the wrong one. but then noticed the top roller was softer. so maybe the bottom roller is meant to be a firm hard plastic.
Did anyone notice the chain is under the roller instead of on top of it. If you don`t run the chain the right way it will destroy that roller ever time.
OK that makes sense. I had the dealership put the new chain and sprockets on and that is how they assembled. If you are correct and the chain should be above the roller then the dealer screwed up when they put it back together. I should have done this myself! You would think the dealer would know what they were doing.
If someone could post a pic of what the chain should look like when it is mounted properly above the roller it would be appreciated. Not to say that I don't believe the previous post but just have nothing to reference.
I just recently cut the mount for my roller off because my roller broke up and fell off, making the chain rub the mount. Guess I saved a few dollars...
Can someone post a picture of their chain rollers? I bought a 94 Warrior that does not have any chain rollers on it. And I am going to buy a new chain and sprockets.
The lower chain roller doesn't really do that much. I know that the stock foam ones are junk. You can put any aftermarket one on even from a dirt bike. I run an AMP Link on mine and love it.
