Default Shifter

Any suggestions on making the shifter lever any longer? I don't like how it's so close to the peg and im always having trouble with my boot getting under it and what not. I know you can get another just like it off a bike, but is the one on the bike the same length?
Some suggestions or oppinions would be great.

Go with a yz 426 shifter. I believe other bikes used the same one, but you'll just have to look up the part number and see what uses it. The one from the dirtbike is actually a little longer. In the past I could never wear riding boots on the warrior because I would not be able to shift easily, with the yz shifter its now possible. Also the nice thing about it is it eliminates the garbage over engineered linkage that the warrior shifter uses. The direct shift provides a much better feel as well as quicker and more controlled shifts. Just make sure that when you install it, you have it clear the left case cover for the up shift, because if it is up too high it will be blocked by the cover and or drag on it making shifting difficult.

Nope, the yz shifter has the same spline count and everything. The hardest part of the swap is removing the old shifter.

I'm running the stock shifter, I just tweaked it a bit. I'm a size 13 shoe and it's working fine for me. Heat it and bend it.

Yeah im a size 12 and i can't get my freaking boot under it without moving my whole leg and what not. But yeah,is the yz shifter longer or something? Is that why it's better? Because if it's just postioned different, hell i'll go with heating up and bending it,but if it's longer than i'll go with that.

the yz250f shifter is about the same stretch as stock... it just replaces the original linkage making it direct shift. plus the peg is smaller for us bigfoots so its easier to get out from under it.. its a little awkward at first but youll love it real quick

after starting on bikes, then getting the warrior out of a smoking deal, the yz shifter actually feels more comfortable to me than the warrior shifter because it has that bike feel to it
