Default Timing help

hey guys i fixed the clutch got evrything running ok but still back fireing. 2002 warrior, i have the covers off, i am getting the flywheel spun until i see the T lined up, but when the T is lined up the mark on the timing gear is @ the bottom, i thought it was supposed to be @ the top aligned with the V mark on the case, if so how do i correct this, also it is idleling fine but when i throttle up it just boggs down like it wants to stall and back fires, any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to get out in the snow with my son, thanks

nevermind, i fixed the problem, to anyone who has this problem it was the emergancy brake lever since the cable was loose for what ever reason it causes the backfireing and bad throttle response, maybe this would make a good sticky, also the timeing was set by spining the flywheel bolt counter clockwise until the cam gear mark was aligned with the top notch on engine case and @ TDC
