Smoking Wolverine

Has anyone else had problems with their wolverine burning oil at startup? I've heard that valve seals are usually the culprit, but was wondering if anyone here has had this problem and changed the seals? Is there a place where I can d/l a shop manual for the wolverine?

Beofre I redid my top end, my Wolverine would smoke white on startup, and for a short time until it warmed up. I was told that valve seals were the culprit. It wasn't huge amounts, but just enough to be noticed. It seemd worse in cold weather.

New top end, bore, piston, valves and seals, no more smoke.
